Life in the Universe

Astronomy 6 -- Spring 2003

DRL A4 T/Th 1.30-3.00pm

Instructor: David E. Trilling

Welcome to Life in the Universe. In this class, we will discuss and learn about the origin and evolution of life and the search for life in the Universe (including on Earth and on other planets and moons of the Solar System). We will also discuss topics in physics, chemistry, biology, geology, and astronomy which are related to Astrobiology and the search for life in the Universe. I'm looking forward to our adventure together!

We remember of astronauts Brown, Husband, Clark, Chawla, Anderson, McCool, and Ramon lost aboard Space Shuttle Columbia (STS-107) on 1 Feb 2003.

NEW! The final exams are graded. The distribution of scores is here. Overall the exams were fine -- some people missed some silly, easy things and some people got some difficult things correct -- sometimes the same people!

The final course grades are done. You can find the histogram here. Feel free to email me and I will tell you your score and letter grade.

Thanks everyone for a very enjoyable semester in which I -- and hopefully you! -- learned quite a bit. Have a good summer. Aloha. (9 May 2003)
